“A Nation’s culture resides in the hearts and soul of the people.”
On 15th August 1947, the first Prime Minister of Independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru said, “At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom.” An awaited moment by everyone, India became free from the British haul. He hoisted the Indian flag on the Lahori Gate of Red Fort in Delhi which has become a symbolic gesture for every Independence Day. After 72 years, even today, every Indian irrespective of where they are, they feel the same patriotism.
From that day till today, India has never backed down. India has strived hard to make its own mark in the world! Let’s talk about numbers. By 2025, India will be the most populated nation in the world. India has an average age of 29, with 50% of the population less than 25, 65% population is under 35. Whereas the average age for China, the European nations or America, is around 37. So, with the increasing population, India is growing as a young nation! No doubt why the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi sees the potential in the youth of India. And not just this, India has a stronger economy and the fastest growing rate of 7.7%. India has the 6th largest Growth Domestic Product (GDP) rank in the whole world!
India has come a long way from slavery to liberty! And to proudly celebrate this success, Atlas Softweb and Atlas Academy, came together to reflect and be thankful for the freedom we have. Today, we pay tribute to those souls who have sacrificed their lives for the dream of free India. Those soldiers who fought for our nation, those strong mothers and wives who supported them and to those brave children who join the Army to build a safer Nation for the citizens! A salute from Atlas to all those people!
India is known for its culture and rich heritage. To reflect the Indian-ness, we decided to come in ethnic wear in the tri-colours – Saffron, White, Green, and Blue. We started the day by singing our National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’. The anthem is more than just a song for Indians, it is an emotion of sacrifice, dreams, and pride for us.
After singing the anthem, our Co-founder, Mr. Royson Rajan, gave a beautiful message on Freedom and Accountability. He said – “We are thankful for this day for we have the freedom to do anything we want. With the right to freedom, we also should have the sense of accountability. We should be responsible for completing what we have taken on our shoulders and should own it. Freedom and Accountability should go hand in hand to become successful Indians.” We also organized a group song competition comprising of 3 to 5 people, who had to record songs sung by them on patriotism. It was a fun-filled day, and we had sweets to complete the day!
This day, let us all gather, be the reason for unity, get away with corruption, make India safer for women and children and hoist the flag with pride. Atlas Softweb and Atlas Academy wish you a very Happy 72nd Independence Day!
