Our Challenges

Being a skin care brand so fierce and holding their ground with all natural ingredients that makes people worry-free and skin clearer, they wanted their website to also resonate the same.

A shopping cart mainly consists of three elements:

  • Storing product information.
  • It is a gateway for catalog, order and customer management.
  • It gives one the correct information about products, categories and website information.

The audience of their website was facing issues with order processing. Going back and forth to add products was a herculean task which most of the time resulted in cart abandonment. Also, whenever a new product was added to the cart, the customer had to refresh the page to see the new price.

The major issues were with the cart features. And to give the best shopping cart experience to your customers is the crux of your online business. An online shopping cart connects shopping with buying, and your vision to your ROI.

It is the ‘basket’ or ‘shelf’ for a customer, if that shelf isn’t user-friendly, you would experience higher abandonment rates, less loyal customers and poor website ranking as well.

Also, since it’s a skincare brand, customers would like to read the reviews of the people who have used the products. And with different kinds of people in the world, there would be different ways of wanting to check the reviews like by checking out the after application skin, or the kind of packaging, or what is the colour of the product when applied to the skin, a video of any customer using the product and so on. It is always great to provide ease of options.

Final Takeaway

The problems we encountered while surfing on the website were plenty and needed serious transformation.

The website was powered by Magento CMS. So, the first thing that the website needed was to migrate from Magento 1 to Magento 2. We backed up the data, and migrated the whole website to a new version of the CMS. This was needed as Magento was ending its support to all websites on the Magento 1 version.

We developed a responsive Magento theme so that customers on all popular devices like tablets, smartphones, PC or laptop, could see the website and navigate it easily irrespective of the device they are using.

We then enhanced the website with powerful ecommerce features like,

Add to cart pop-up:
We added the ‘Add to cart pop up’ feature wherein the customers can add a product to the cart without refreshing the page. The product once added will show in the cart instantly.

Minicart Customization:
For the minicart, we redesigned the entire structure. We also added the custom shipping rate feature which the admin can change from backend. We have also made this responsive which can be viewed on popular devices.

OnChange Price update full cart page:
On the cart page of the COSRX website, we developed a functionality where when the product quality was changed, the full cart page would refresh without loading the full page again.

Customization on Product Reviews:
This functionality was added to the product detail page. This feature helped calculate the customer ratings and it would appear as “N% of people recommend this product”. So, this would help people decide to buy a product quicker. This feature also counters the number of reviews as per the ratings.

Also, the new visitors who are in search and want to go through various reviews can filter as per different criterias like recommendation, filter as per images/videos, show reviews with only text, sort reviews by date or by ratings.

If the customer wants to see a list of images and videos, they can do so through a grid view.

The customer could also write a review and could upload images or video too.

In addition, the customer can enhance the images and videos while writing the review on product pages.
